12/9/2016 My First Blogpost
What should I write about for my first blog post, I've been wondering for the past few days? My first thoughts were to go for a really meaty topic such as 'what is a winning mindset' or maybe an article on the role pressure plays in performance, but no. In my first post, I realised I should do two things.
First, I should say hello and welcome. I really hope that you enjoy the website and I hope will find it a great educational tool, regardless of whether you work in a kitchen or not.
Following on from this, to reiterate what I discussed in my 'About' page, what you read here is not really about chefs, it's everything you see everywhere all the time. Just today, I was in town to buy a jacket and saw one in a shop window I liked. Stepping inside the shop a young assistant asked if he could help me and I said I wanted to buy a jacket like the one in the window; he asked me to describe it. I said if you step outside the shop I can show you which one I mean, he said he wasn't allowed to. I was shocked.
Elsewhere, these issues work out on a somewhat more public stage and the weekend just gone, like so many other weekends brought its share of sporting drama with Man United losing to Man City. Jose Mourinho criticised his players publicly suggesting they were not up to the pressure and occasion of such a high profile match. Will he, like he arguably did at Chelsea, lose the dressing room? Everywhere and anywhere around you then, from the smallest of incidents to the largest of scandals, you will see what this website is about: people, teams, motivations, influence, leadership and winning, to name but a few. Accordingly, if you have a boss, if you are a boss, if you play in a sports team or whatever it is you do with other people, this is a website for you. And even if you strongly disagree with everything I say, I hope it still makes you think. In any case, welcome. Comments are closed.
